Meet Dawn

A Life of Strength, Wellness & Purpose

Hi, I'm Dawn.

And if we were meeting in person, I would probably already be asking about you.

That's simply who I am. I love people. I love hearing their stories, discovering what lights them up and finding the places where I might encourage, help or simply walk alongside them for a while. I still meet life with a great deal of joy and wonder, and after all these years, I'm genuinely excited about what might be around the next corner.

My life has given me plenty of corners to turn.

For more than 35 years, health and fitness has been part of my life's work, but I've also spent a lifetime creating. I'm an entrepreneur, writer and publisher. I've created books, a magazine, several businesses, including two women's fitness studios, fitness programs, events and skincare. I've competed in fitness, coached and trained women, given grants to support women's wellness and women in business, produced gatherings and poured much of my heart into philanthropic work supporting women.

For a particularly full season, that work took shape through Shaping Women Naturally. Bringing women together became much more than producing events. It deepened my understanding of what it means to support a woman—not only physically, but personally, professionally and meaningfully. Much of my philanthropy grew from that season as well.

And Shaping Women Naturally is still part of my story. In 2027, women will gather again for the Be Well Spring Gathering. I don't know exactly what that gathering will become yet. That's part of the wonder of creating something new. But I do know the heart behind it: women will be welcomed, encouraged and reminded that caring for themselves and one another matters.

When I look back, I don't see a collection of ventures. I see a life that reflects who I am and how I became a woman I can respect when I look in the mirror each day—a woman who knows she has been continually held by her Maker.

That life has not unfolded without struggle.

I've experienced health challenges of my own, including autoimmune disorders and the skin issues that can accompany them. Some I've overcome. Others I've learned to manage. They taught me what it feels like when your body isn't behaving the way you want it to, when answers aren't simple, and when caring for yourself requires patience, persistence and grace.

They also changed the way I listen.

When a woman tells me she's struggling, tired, discouraged, beginning again or simply trying to understand what she needs now, I don't hear a problem to fix.

I hear a person.

Perhaps that's one reason my understanding of wellness has grown so much over the years.

I still believe deeply in movement, nutrition and physical strength. But being well is larger than any workout.

It is strength, yes. But it is also faith, rest, nourishment, beauty, friendship, family, purpose, generosity, a peaceful home, a good conversation, time with the people we love and moving our bodies because we're grateful that we can.

And sometimes, for me, it's getting on my bike and heading out with my dog, Ollie.

My faith is woven through all of it.

It has shaped the woman I've become, the way I understand purpose and the way I write. I am an author, but more essentially, I am a writer. Writing is one of the ways I listen, pray, learn, create and make sense of what life is revealing to me.

My books and creative work have explored strength, faith, wholeness, beauty and becoming. In Blessed Are the Pure in Heart: The Beatitudes and the Beauty of Becoming Whole, I wrote about something I understand more deeply with age: becoming whole isn't the same thing as becoming perfect.

I am still becoming.

That feels especially meaningful as I approach 60.

I'm a woman with a family I love and grandchildren who have brought another dimension of love into my life. Family brings an entirely different perspective to one's life story. I believe those relationships and experiences also teach us when to hold on and, sometimes, when to let go.

I'm still ambitious.

And that ambition continues to lead me toward new expressions beyond what has already been possible. I don't believe I'm finished creating, growing or discovering new ways to serve. If anything, the life I've lived has made me more attentive to what might still be mine to do.

Today, Be Well is the most recent expression of that journey—but its roots reach back much further.

In my 40s, health complications led to four blood transfusions. There were things I had to overcome and others I had to learn to manage. Experiences like those have a way of changing what well means. They taught me to value the present, to listen differently to my body and to understand that wellness isn't something we achieve once and then possess.

Over time, I've come to think less about working and more about serving. I keep creating and believing, allowing purpose to shape how I use the life I've been given.

Avva Rose Skincare, established in 2018, along with writing, fitness, gathering women and the everyday ways I choose to care for myself and others, all find a place within that larger understanding.

Strength. Wellness. Purpose.

For me, those aren't simply words. They're the continuing story of a life still being lived—and a life I believe still has much more to give.

So when you experience Dawn Hall Fit, Avva Rose Skincare, Be Well, one of my books or a gathering of women, you are experiencing different expressions of one heart.

My passion is to serve, create and give—to listen and help women discover their strength. These are the purposes my Maker created me for.

Him through me—an endless supply that keeps giving.

Thank you for taking the time to meet me. I look forward to meeting you, too.
